Why is it that despite all the clothes, shoes & accessories we have, we still are lost on daily basis as to what to wear... yet the minute we step into a shop our eyes can put together multiple outfits from just one stand?

The answer is simple... no matter how big or small your wardrobe may be, if its not organized chances are getting dressed is going to be a hassle!

Here I will share with you six basic rules everyone should abide by to achieve a perfectly put-together closet.

USE ONE KIND OF HANGER

It might seem minor but this will make a huge difference. It will create a more organized, uniform look and help keep everything tidy. If you can find the velour ones, thats a plus, since they are compact and clothing stays put.

ORGANIZE BY COLOR

Organizing by color will not only look nicer than having everything jumbled, it will make it a lot easier to get dressed in the morning. I suggest to go from Black to colors of the rainbow in the same order.

INVEST IN A SYSTEM

Sort by type of clothing (long-sleeve blouses, short sleeve blouses), and then hang according to colour.

GET CREATIVE

Need more drawers? why not create an island with back to back IKEA drawers? We added a glass top to give it an extra touch and styled the top with my client's collection of perfumes and fresh orchids to add that lavish touch to the space.

TREAT YOUR SHOES LIKE ART

Display them well and you'll feel you are stepping into a store each time! We used simple IKEA storage shelves here and organized them by color. This will not only help preserve their life but will keep you from buying extra pairs you don't need!

PROTECT YOUR ITEMS

Take precautions to protect your clothing from moths. I store things that are really precious in breathable garment bags, and I use cedar-scented wood chips for everything else.
