THE INSIDEOUT MAGAZINE HOME OF THE YEAR AWARD 2016 EXPERIENCE
A couple of months back I got a call from InsideOut Magazine telling me I've been selected to be on their panel of judges of their Home of the Year 2016 award! Ofcourse I was delighted and said yes right away as I love seeing the beautiful interiors from UAE homes and how both expats and locals bring together a melange of tastes into their homes in this cosmopolitan country.
Ofcourse a lot of the hard work was carried out by the magazine team itself led by Sharon Parsons the magazine editor where they screened all the entries until they got the six finalists. We were then invited for a very nice lunch at La Cantine Du Faubourg, the French cuisine restaurant with its multisensory experience.
I have to admit the criteria for judging were quite tough and the competition was difficult as all six homes were exquisite and showed a lot of personality, style & character. Each of the judges placed their notes and points and at the end there was a almost a consensus as to who the award went to... The Home of the Year 2016 winner was then announced at a special evening at the China Grill in the Westin Hotel, and the award went to Jennifer Russ and her beautiful home in the Lakes. Marina Home Interiors who sponsored the event presented her with a 25,000 AED cheque!
